Freeman Patterson, Edna, and Me

Freeman Patterson, the famous New Brunswick photographer (freemanpatterson.com), once wrote, “If you do not see what is around you every day, what will you see when you go to Tangiers?”

I’ve always liked Freeman Patterson’s photographs and would love to travel to New Brunswick to take one of his courses. In the meantime, I decided to put his philosophy into practice this week by combining my daily walks with Edna (our ten-month-old, forty-pound Basset Hound) with my fabulous Canon 70D camera to see what images the two of us could find while roaming the neighbourhood. All these images were recorded within a five-block radius of the house, all proving that when you look, you’ll see!

I have no immediate plans to travel to Tangiers, but Bill and I have booked our flights to spend next April in Australia. I have a feeling that the two of us will be seeing a great deal indeed. Alas, neither Freeman Patterson nor Edna will be accompanying us.

Enjoy these images of our east end Belleville neighbourhood!

Until next time.
